The ministry plans to implement the project with the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. Currently 5-6 is interested in the project. The ministry also shares the details with the related companies and exchanges views. The project is planned to be launched within the year of 2015.
The new trains will speed up the 350 mileage. With the present Ankara-Eskişehir-Istanbul YHT line, the travel time was reduced to 3,5 hours. When the new line is commissioned, this time will be reduced to 1 hours 15 minutes. According to the feasibility studies, the new line is expected to cost 4,5-5 billion dollars. (GB)
