The latest technology for the Bosphorus and FSM bridges

Bosphorus and FSM bridges of the latest technology.Bibuti and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges, to prevent the rotting of the rope dehumidification system will be established. 26 services will be completed in April.

236 rope to be renewed
The entrance of the Bosphorus Bridge into the 40. heavy duty maintenance work will be started after the tender. Large maintenance, repair, structural reinforcement and suspension rope exchange works on the bridge will be completed at 2014.
Under the scope of the mentioned works, the 236 rope will be replaced. The renewed ropes will be able to carry more load and have a longer service life.
State-of-the-art system
The main ropes and anchoring blocks in the Bosphorus and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges will be installed in Japan, the latest dehumidification system used in Japan. The system will prevent dry ropes from decaying.
Bosphorus Bridge will not be closed during the daytime hours except during the maintenance and repair works. The edge strips on the ropes side of the bridge will be closed to traffic between the 22.00 and 06.00 hours in terms of life and property security.
