Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's IZDENIZ General Directorate has increased the use of ferryboats with the new voyage scheme that has been implemented since February 1. The number of vehicles transported by ferry in the first 15 days increased by 19,5 percent compared to the same period of the previous month.

During the pandemic period, the İZDENİZ General Directorate, whose boarding figures decreased by more than 50 percent, created a new voyage program based on the lines and time zones where the frequency of use is intense and implemented it as of February 1 with the approval of the Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME). The new tariff has significantly increased the use of ferryboats serving the Bostanlı-Üçkuyular line.

15 thousand 34 vehicles were transported in the first 679 days of February. In the first half of January, this figure was 29 thousand 5. Thus, the number of vehicles using the ferry in the first half of February increased by 19,5 percent compared to the same period of the previous month. On the other hand, the record for "the highest number of vehicles transported in one day" was also broken. The previous record, which was 4, rose to 629 on Friday, February 5th. Bostanlı-Üçkuyular ferries operate every 5 minutes between 60 - 07.15 and 10.00 - 15.00 on weekdays; In other time zones, it runs every 20.00 minutes.

According to the new tariff, cruise ships make a voyage every 15 minutes at the start and end of weekdays.
