Construction of the New Armory in Çumra, Konya Progress Rapidly

Konya Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to move the arsenal of the Turkish Armed Forces in Sille to its new location in Çumra district. Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said, “The construction of the arsenal, which we started last year in Çumra Abditolu District, is progressing rapidly. With an investment cost of 861 million 950 thousand liras, this project will be the biggest budgeted work we have done in our metropolitan history. With the relocation of the arsenal, we will implement a transformation project in an area of ​​1 million 670 thousand square meters in Sille.” said.

Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that as the Metropolitan Municipality, they have carried out exemplary urban transformation projects for Turkey in the last four years, and reminded that one of them is the transport of the 47th Ammunition Company Command of the Turkish Armed Forces in Sille. .

Stating that the arsenal now remained in the city center due to the rapidly expanding and growing structure of Konya, Mayor Altay said, “In addition, it lost its ability to serve our army with its physical structure and opportunities. In this direction, we started work to move the arsenal to a more modern area away from the city center. The construction of the arsenal, which we started last year in the Abditolu District of Çumra district, is progressing rapidly. With an investment cost of 861 million 950 thousand liras, this project will be the biggest budgeted work we have done in the history of the Metropolitan. The arsenals built here will be in line with NATO standards. In addition, we are building an arsenal that will meet Turkey's needs as smart ammunition. It's good for our city." he said.

President Altay reminded that with the transfer of the arsenal in Sille to Çumra, a transformation project will be implemented in an area of ​​1 million 670 thousand square meters, adding that Konya will gain a new and decent neighborhood in horizontal architecture.
