The exact cause of migraine is unknown. But it is thought to be the result of abnormal brain activity that temporarily affects nerve signals, chemicals, and blood vessels in the brain.

The following symptoms can be seen in migraine:

Different options are used for treatment in migraine patients. Two molecules, which were approved by the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2018 and started to be used later in our country, came to the fore as migraine vaccine, especially in migraine patients who could not be sufficiently successful with other preventive treatment methods.

Medicines known as migraine vaccines act through antibodies that inhibit calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), which plays a role in the mechanism of migraine. These drugs are recommended for patients suffering from migraine more than 4 days a month. Medicines known as migraine vaccines are used as subcutaneous injections. Initially, it is recommended to be done by a doctor in terms of possible adverse effects. 2 injections are administered at the same time. It can then be administered by the patient himself as monthly injections. Although the duration of treatment varies according to the patient, it is about 6 months on average.
