Samsun Public Transportation Transfer Center Counts Days to Opening

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality has completed the construction of the Public Transportation Transfer Center, which will enable the citizens living in the districts to reach the city center with a single vehicle. There are only a few days left until the center, which will be trained for the TEKNOFEST organization, comes into service. Both passengers and minibus shopkeepers await the opening with excitement. President of Samsun-Kavak Minibus Cooperative İlhami Emeksiz expressed that they are happy that the victimization of passengers will end, while Samsun-Bafra Minibuses Cooperative President Ahmet Can said, "We see the service and we are behind our president."

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to solve the chronic problems of the city with its infrastructure and superstructure investments in 17 districts, on the one hand, eliminates the urban traffic and public transportation problems of the citizens with the "Smart City Traffic Safety" project. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has struck an important problem in the city with the construction of the Public Transportation Transfer Center, is preparing to start the daily transportation period with a single vehicle to the city center with the districts.

DAYS LEFT TO OPEN

The Metropolitan Municipality, which completed the construction of the Public Transportation Transfer Center of approximately 9 million TL, located in the area next to the Atatürk Cultural Center, created 13 steel construction platforms for the district minibuses and 3 for the airport shuttle vehicles. The center, which will have a taxi stand for 12 vehicles and an open parking lot for 72 vehicles, has been completed, and the information, waiting and ticket sales office has been made ready. The center, whose final acceptance is about to be made, will be put into service with a ceremony to be held in the near future.

METROPOLITAN DID WHAT IS TOLD "IMPOSSIBLE"

Ali Çelik, one of the minibus tradesmen, said, “The project that was said to be impossible for 12 years has been carried out. It is a matter of acumen and horizon. With this investment, our Metropolitan Mayor, Mustafa Demir, has fulfilled his promise to us by completing the road widening works in the center by considering the smallest detail. It provides significant benefits to the public with its ministry experience. Time and money are now precious. People want to go to their workplaces, students to their faculties, our elderly people to the hospital as soon as possible. Therefore, fast and economical transportation is very important for our passengers.” he said.

PEOPLE WILL GET COMFORT

Ahmet Can, President of Samsun-Bafra Minibus Cooperative, said, “A place is being built for minibus tradesmen and passengers in 17 districts. The people of Bafra are waiting for direct transportation to come to life. The days have also dwindled. Everything is finished. We will reach the city center when it is put into service. I think that a very good service has been rendered to the public, both financially and morally. People will be relieved. People living in the districts will see and mingle with each other. If he goes to the hospital, he spends a day on the road. Like a day trip by plane, people will do their job and return in the evening. It will be great comfort. We see the service and we stand behind our president.”

BOTH MINIBUS DRIVERS AND THE PUBLIC WAITING WAITING

Expressing that they are happy that the suffering of the passengers will come to an end, Samsun-Kavak Minibus Cooperative President İlhami Emeksiz said, “Our passengers were suffering a lot. When we left them at the bus station, they were looking for a second vehicle. On the way back, they had to change 2-3 vehicles. It was also a huge burden economically. There is already a crisis in our country. It was a pity for our people, it was a sin. 2-3 vehicle changing cycles are over. Now they will pay less money as we will take them to the city center with a single vehicle. In other words, it will have gone from Kavak to the center without changing any other vehicle. This will provide a great advantage to our passengers in terms of both time and cost. We are very pleased with the new passenger hub. As minibus drivers, we would like to thank our Metropolitan Mayor, Mustafa Demir, for their support.”
