A new container line was put into operation between Nanjing, China, and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. China's Jiangsu Port Group has started operating a container line between Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. The new line starts from Nanjing, the capital of the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu; it again stops at Taicang in Jiangsu and Haiphong in Vietnam and ends in Ho Chi Minh city.

The new line was commissioned to respond to the high demand created by the increased trade between Nanjing and the surrounding cities of Southeast Asia after the regional inclusive economic cooperation, known as RCEP, went into effect.

The one-way flights, which will take place once a week, take approximately one week. Jiangsu Post Group announced that logistics facilities are insufficient for the direct trade volume from Nanjing to Vietnam, Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, that this new line has been put into use to increase trade between the countries, and that new lines are being worked on.
