Kızılcahamam-Çerkeş Tunnel, which increases the comfort of transportation between Kızılcahamam district of Ankara and Çerkeş district of Çankırı, was put into service with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's video conference. By putting the entire Ankara - Niğde Highway into service, we ensured uninterrupted highway transportation from Edirne to Şanlıurfa. The constructions of the Ankara - İzmir Highway and the Ankara - İzmir high speed train line are continuing step by step. Likewise, trial runs started on the Ankara - Sivas high-speed train line. Our tunnel constructions on all challenging routes, especially the Black Sea Mountains and the Taurus Mountains, continue as planned. Hopefully, we will put all of these works to the service of our nation as we complete them. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that Kızılcahamam-Çerkeş Tunnel will offer comfortable, fast, safe and economical transportation like all road projects, and said Kızılcahamam, Çerkeş District of Çankırı and D-100 State Road. He said that with the tunnel of 2 thousand 71 meters connecting the city, the existing route of 6 kilometers shortened by 2,4 kilometers to 3,6 kilometers.

Stating that an efficient and economical solution has been achieved for the transportation sector with the shortening of the road and becoming comfortable, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “Thanks to our tunnels; Travel time on this line will be reduced from 15 minutes to 3 minutes. After the speeches, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Director of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Governors, deputies and other protocol members cut the opening ribbon and opened the tunnel into service.

In the project; 630 thousand m³ of earthworks, 107 thousand m3 of concrete, 6.800 tons of reinforced concrete, 58 thousand tons of hot and cold mixed asphalt were manufactured.

With tunnel; It will be ensured that snow and ice combat activities are carried out effectively on the Kızılcahamam-Çerkeş route, which is dominated by winter conditions due to high altitude and slope; Our citizens will be provided with high standard, comfortable, safe and uninterrupted traffic service in all seasons of the year.
