EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, who spoke at the celebration program in which the history of EGO was told, said, “EGO, an 80-year-old sycamore of the Republic, is an organization that has mobilized its knowledge and experience in the field of public transportation to provide world-class quality service to the people of Ankara.”

EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, who spoke at the anniversary celebration held with the mini concert given by the EGO Music Ensemble, formed by the EGO staff, said the following in the opening speech of the event:
“EGO, an 80-year-old sycamore of the Republic, is an organization that has mobilized its knowledge and experience in the field of public transportation to provide world-class quality service to the people of Ankara. Behind this service is a huge human resource working 7/24. There is a large family that has served and is serving devotedly from its past to the present. This 80-year-old giant plane tree has a great place in the memory of this city. Because EGO is one of the most important dynamics of the urban development and urbanization project of our Republic. The colorful history of our capital is hidden in EGO's black and white photographs.”
MASTER JOURNALISTS SHARED THEIR PROFESSIONAL MEMORIES ABOUT EGO
While the video prepared by Ankara University Faculty of Communication (ILEF) Advertising Workshop for the 80th anniversary of EGO General Directorate received great acclaim, “EGO History” was told with the presentation of ABB Culture and Social Affairs Department Theater Artists. An interview on “EGO Through the Eyes of the Press” was held, moderated by Murat Yılmaz from Hürriyet Newspaper and attended by Journalists Dursun Erkılıç, Mehmet Kaya and Ömer Olcay. In the interview, journalists shared their professional memories about EGO. EGO General Directorate also brought the old 1987 model city bus in front of the Metropolitan Municipality, giving the employees a journey of nostalgia.
The celebration program ended with the presentation of a plaque to the retired personnel, a souvenir photo shoot, a mini concert by the City Orchestra, and a reception.
