A feverish work is underway to raise the Eminönü Alibeyköy Tram, which has been reconstructed between Balat and Ayvansaray, by the end of the year. Concrete piling and rail laying are performed in the section, where pile foundation works are completed. The 3,6-kilometer part of the project, built as a piles-free foundation, and ground movements in the Tramway Maintenance and Storage Area will also be followed regularly with the latest technology.
Work is underway to raise the Eminönü - Eyüpsultan - Alibeyköy Tram Line, where the seating takes place in the 1,3 km section of the rails by the end of the year.
The line had come to a halt due to the financing problems experienced at the beginning of 2019. The problem was solved with equity and the work on the line started again. Credit negotiations were initiated. However, this time, there was a problem in the 2018 km section of the line between Balat and Ayvansaray, which was built as a piles-free foundation and the foundation and rail works were completed in October 1,3. Due to the design made on the Golden Horn beach without taking into account the ground, problems such as sitting, collapsing and slipping at a level that would hinder the tramway business occurred.
As a result of detailed technical evaluations, it was understood that the 1,3 km section between Balat and Ayvansaray, which did not sit on the pile foundation, would be the most suitable solution to make the pile foundation completely broken.
In this context, the tram line rail removal and reinforced concrete crushing works were started between Balat and Ayvansaray in March. In the current situation, the pile foundation works have been completed. Concrete pouring and rail laying work continues.
In addition, it was decided to follow the ground movements regularly and with the latest technology in the Tram Maintenance and Warehouse Area, with the remaining 3,6 km of the project built without stakes.
It is aimed to open the line between Cibali and Alibeyköy at the end of the year. In order to extend the line to Eminönü, it is also working on the renewal project of the Unkapanı Bridge. When the rail system, which is 10,1 kilometers and 14 stations in total, is completed, 30 thousand passengers will receive service per hour.
