ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System, which is a very effective hybrid defense system using electromagnetic and laser technology against asymmetric threats, demonstrated its capabilities and provided a full hit to the target.

President of the Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced the development on his social media account with the following words: “Our goal is a Turkey that is leading, not lagging behind in all areas of the defense industry! We have left one more stage behind in the tests of the ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System, which will have an important place in our laser and electromagnetic activities that few countries are working on. ALKA, consisting of a high-powered laser weapon with an electromagnetic jamming system, a target detection radar, and a target tracking system, provided superior detection, tracking and destruction capabilities against ground and air targets in seconds. Congratulations to all involved.”

Cost Effective Defense System With No Ammo Limits

The Laser Weapon Systems Procurement Project activities, initiated by the Presidency of Defense Industries and carried out under the main contractor Roketsan, continue at full speed. Developed within the scope of ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System; A high-powered laser weapon system with Target Detection Radar, Target Tracking System and Electromagnetic Jamming System was demonstrated. Within the scope of the demonstration activity; The domestic and national laser weapon system solution, which was developed as an integrated product family at different power levels and for different carrier platforms (fixed, portable and mobile), was introduced, and the capability and effectiveness gained through firing tests were demonstrated. The developed systems demonstrated superior detection, tracking and destruction capabilities in seconds against both ground and air targets. In the project, Ermaksan company also takes part as a laser source manufacturer.
