Speaking at the monthly regular assembly meeting, President Soyer said, “Let our state build a one-meter subway tunnel for this Izmir! Doesn't Izmir deserve it? For example, the Otogar-Halkapinar Metro. It has been in investment plans for 8-9 years,” he said.
Expressing that they will continue to fight against the opening of the demolished Buca Prison for construction, the President said. Tunç SoyerI say, “The place of Buca Prison should be green space, and I will stand behind this until the end”.
The first meeting of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's ordinary council meeting in December, Mayor Tunç Soyer made under his administration. In the session held in the assembly hall in Kulturpark Hall No. 4, Mayor Soyer pointed out that Izmir did not receive the investment it deserved from the taxes it collected and said: “The General Directorate of Accounts of the Ministry of Finance published how much investment each province received at the end of October. There is a problem with this part: the numbers of the investment coordination meeting held by our governorship. İzmir received a total investment of 4 billion TL. The Metropolitan Municipality made an investment of 2,5 billion liras. One would like our state to be more involved and invest more. Who wouldn't want that?" he said.
President Soyer thanked the AK Party Deputy Chairman and İzmir Deputy Hamza Dağ, who provided support for the permission they expected from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in using foreign loans without treasury guarantee to be used in the 4th Phase 2nd supply construction of the Çiğli Treatment Plant. “It cleared an important hurdle,” he said.
Another example of blocked jobs
Reminding that in the session of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality regarding the 2023 budget approval, Mayor Soyer stated that he listed the works requested by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality but not done under three headings as obstructions that cause public harm, obstructions that cause harm to the public, and obstructions that cause harm to the public. He continued: “Let me add one more. Beydağ PTT building… The PTT building is up for sale, the municipality needs it. It has nothing to do with the public, it runs a private company. What we mean is the issue of public investment. Again, there is a general understanding error. 'What have we done to this country?' it's called. You are the state bro, of course you will! Of course the state has to do more than the municipality, right? Thank you for the metro lines. Don't thank anymore, just do it! Let our state build a one-meter subway tunnel for this Izmir! Doesn't Izmir deserve it? For example, the Otogar-Halkapinar Metro. Promises not fulfilled
In his speech, President Soyer also included the government's 2023 economy promises and said, “Promise is when it comes to promise. In 2023, per capita income in Turkey would be 25 thousand dollars. Our exports would be 500 billion dollars. I remember such promises, and I guess you do too. I leave it to your conscience why these promises were not fulfilled.”
