The teams, which started cleaning works in the area, will take security measures by covering the rock surfaces with shotcrete to prevent a similar incident.
Yesterday evening, the rocks that fell on the road by breaking off the mountain slope with the effect of heavy rains in the Altınyol Turan region closed the road. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Science and Fire Department teams took action immediately, closed the road for a while, removed the rock pieces, took security measures by placing concrete barriers and enabled the road to be reopened to traffic.
Safety measures will be taken with the shotcrete method
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Science Affairs Department teams will cover the rock surfaces with shotcrete to prevent a possible rock rolling. Before the safety measure to be taken with the shotcrete method, the Department of Science Affairs and the Department of Park and Gardens started cleaning work on the rock surface today. It has been reported that a portion of the road will be closed to traffic during these works. In addition, since no additional lanes can be applied on the land side in the morning, traffic will be dense. The work is expected to be completed in three days.
