The 2023 theme of the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards, the first and only international award program in the field of social sciences, given annually by Sabancı University in Turkey, was determined as "The 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey: Republicanism in Theory and Practice". Applications for the award program, which was put into effect upon the will of Sabancı University Honorary President Sakıp Sabancı, can be made until January 15, 2023.

The 2023 theme of the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards, the first and only international award program in the field of social sciences in Turkey, given annually by Sabancı University, was announced as "The 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey: Republicanism in Theory and Practice".

Within the scope of the award program, the subject of which is determined specifically for the year 100, when the 2023th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey will be celebrated, an independent international jury will award a Special Jury Award of $25.000 to a person determined to contribute to this year's theme with his scientific studies. Persons under the age of 45 can apply for the awards in the article category, and as a result of the evaluation made by the same jury, three of the articles written within the framework of this year's subject will be awarded with 10.000 dollars.

The details of the award theme determined for this year are as follows: While preparing for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, within the scope of the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards, scientific, original, empirical studies from various disciplines, based on the concepts of Republic and Republicanism, historical, institutions and practices are as follows: and comparative perspectives will be rewarded.

Within the scope of this year's call, original articles that will focus on, but not be limited to, Turkey in theory and practice, add new information to existing knowledge on the Republic and Republicanism and/or help contextualize political and social processes in Turkey from a comparative perspective. .

In addition to studies conducted in a wide variety of disciplines such as political theory, political and moral philosophy, comparative politics, international relations, history, economics, gender studies, cultural studies, sociology, anthropology, applications can also be made with multidimensional and interdisciplinary research in social sciences.

The deadline for participation in the award program has been set as January 15, 2023.
