T-70 general purpose helicopter produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) was delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu and Gendarmerie General Commander General Arif Çetin attended the delivery ceremony held at the Gendarmerie Aviation Presidency. Minister of Interior Soylu, who received information from the authorities, made the following statements in his statement:

“With the different payloads integrated on the T-70 Helicopter, the helicopter will be used in fire fighting, search and rescue, personnel transport and military missions. Today, we saw the T-3 Sikorsky helicopter with 70 different aircraft, one of which we can present as purely national pride and which once again showed us the point Turkey's defense industry has come to. All the materials in the cockpit and almost all the software were manufactured by our engineers. This is a great event for us.”

“We had Mi-17 helicopters at our disposal. You saw that they were used in Antalya, Muğla and Marmaris fires last year. Now we get a second capability there. There were only one or two countries in the world, the firefighting capabilities of helicopters with night vision capability. Up to now, 8 of our helicopters have been equipped with this capability. Our pilots are about to complete their training. They will also be able to provide the capability to provide firefighting at night.”

“We have gained the ability to follow social events and reduce the cost we face by flying the German-made helicopter, which we have been working on for about 2,5 years, at traffic controls or at other points. It is both cheap and cheap in fuel. We will start 8 Gyrocopters in our gendarmerie, and then we will start using them in our safety.”

The first T70 general purpose helicopter produced by TAI was delivered to the Gendarmerie in the past days. The first GÖKBEY will be delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command in the first quarter of 2023. Pre-delivery tests are currently ongoing. TAI will deliver 3 GÖKBEY general purpose helicopters to the Gendarmerie General Command in the first place.
