İBB named the football stadium, which was completed, after Halit Kıvanç, the veteran of Turkish television and radio broadcasting. The late Kıvanç's wife Bülbin Kıvanç and her son Ümit Kıvanç met with İBB Youth and Sports Manager İlker Öztürk at the stadium that will host the matches with the legendary name of the sports community. Bülbin Kıvanç thanked those who contributed to the name of the stadium and said, "I wish he had experienced such happiness in his own health."

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has completed the construction of the stadium that will host the football teams of Gaziosmanpaşa and nearby districts. While the final preparations continue in the stadium, which will soon be the scene of the matches and trainings of 24 different clubs, İBB President Ekrem İmamoğluIt was decided to immortalize one of the names who set an example for the Turkish people and to keep his name alive in the stadium. The name of Halit Kıvanç, one of the veteran names of the sports press and football announcer who passed away in October 2022, will be kept alive in the stadium built by IMM. İBB Youth and Sports Director İlker Öztürk, Halit Kıvanç's wife Bülbin Kıvanç and his son Ümit Kıvanç came together at the stadium. Underlining that the name Halit Kıvanç is a very important value, Öztürk said, “It is very valuable that the name of Halit Kıvanç, who has been a role model for the Turkish nation, was given to this stadium. Mr. President Ekrem İmamoğluwill keep the name of a very important man of culture and sports alive in this stadium.”

The late Kıvanç's wife, Bülbin Kıvanç, thanked those who contributed and said, “We were married for 72 years. I am happy that a stadium like this is named after him. I wish he had such happiness in his own health," he said.

Ümit Kıvanç, who shared his satisfaction that his father's name was given to the stadium, said, “If my father's name was to be given to a place, we would also be pleased if it was a place related to football. I am also happy that it is a district stadium, that many clubs will benefit, and that athletes will be trained here. I think it would suit him very well,” he said.

FIFA APPROVED FLOOR

Halit Kıvanç Stadium, which will be put into service shortly, has an audience capacity of 5 thousand people. It has 4 locker rooms, 4 coaching rooms, 2 referee rooms, 1 observer room, 6 administrative offices, 24 offices for the use of amateur sports clubs and live broadcast areas. The ground of the stadium, which has a field size of 68-105, is also FIFA approved.
