Standing out with cultural and artistic activities throughout the summer Kadıköynow hosts the week of Russian Films. The event, which was held in Istanbul for the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War, will continue until 29 August at Caddebostan Cultural Center.
With the contributions of the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul and Mosfilm, Kadıköy Municipality, the event is dedicated to the 1941th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War of 1945-80. Russian Films week opened its curtains with the screening of the 1959 film “A Soldier's Epic” at the opening ceremony held at CKM. The ceremony was attended by Andrey Buravov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Istanbul, Zaur Allahverdi, Consul General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, Kadıköy Mayor of Şerdil Dara Odabaşı and Mayor of Gallipoli Münir Mustafa Özacar attended.
Mosfilm's selection of the best war films will be screened with Turkish subtitles and free tickets can be downloaded from CKM's website. During the Russian Films week; A Human Destiny, Go and See, The Storks Are Flying, The Star, The Epic of a Soldier, The White Tiger, They Fight for the Homeland will meet with moviegoers. The photography exhibition held at the CKM Gallery in memory of the Great Patriotic War can also be visited until 29 August.
