Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) City Theaters shared its new season repertoire with the press and the culture-art world. The new theater season will start in September, two new stages, seven new plays and “From Where We Left Off. It will open the curtain with the slogan “Again”.
İBB City Theaters announced its new season repertoire at the Museum Gazhene, which was put into service on the Anatolian side. Stating that IMM City Theaters won two new stages at the ceremony, Art Director Mehmet Ergen said, “From where we left off. He shared that they will start the new season with the slogan “Again”. Noting that they will open the season with 7 premieres in September, Ergen said, “We wanted to open our season at the Museum Gazhane, which we traditionally do at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage. Because this season, two new stages will serve as the stages of the City Theatre.”
COVID-19 MEASURES OF THE NEW SEASON
Referring to the work done during the Covid 19 pandemic period, Ergen stated that they never stopped production. City Theaters will accept audiences in line with the Covid 19 measures and the practices determined by the Ministry of Interior's circular dated 20.08.2021 in the new season. The seating arrangement will be planned as 1 full and 1 empty. Unmasked spectators will not be allowed in the hall. A certain number of spectators will be admitted to the foyers, with 4 person per 1 square meters. The air conditioning system of the halls will be adjusted to operate with 100 percent clean air in accordance with the new conditions. In addition, fever measurement will be made at the entrance of the Hall. Disinfectants will also be available at the entrances.
7 PREMIERS IN SEPTEMBER
IMM City Theaters will continue to stage the plays announced in Season Minimal this theater season. The premieres of 10 plays that could not be staged last season will be held this year. In the new season, big and magnificent musicals will attract attention. Three great musicals will meet the audience this year. Considered the best musical of all time, the musical “Gypsy” will be staged for the first time in Turkey. The musicals "Band Visit" and "Assassins" will also appear in front of the audience.
In addition to classics such as Moby Dick, children's plays called The Watchman and the Postman and Everyone Will Be a Magician will meet with the theater audience in the new season.
