Samet Şen completed his master's degree in Civil Engineering at Ege University and his comprehensive thesis on İZBAN revealed numbers of passengers in İzmir Suburbs System.
Şen, who previously prepared the thesis on İZBAN, evaluated the tez Evaluation of the Izmir Commuter System via Panel Data yapılan in the survey conducted by the master thesis. The role was emphasized.
Another striking figure in the thesis is that the passengers of İZBAN, 34 is about to change the public transportation vehicles they used in recent years and they are about to turn to rail system. In other words, every day, 100 started to use İZBAN instead of nearly a thousand passengers, rubber wheeled public transportation vehicles, ferries, minibuses or minibuses. This was one of the most important factors in the rapid rise of rail system in Izmir.
