Wild animals will be connected to life through ecological bridges: 3 which is under construction in Istanbul. The Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, which obligates 6 ecological bridges for wild animals that may be affected by the bridge, will implement the application in other highway projects.
As part of the study conducted by the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks and the General Directorate of Forestry, the densities of wildlife populations and mobility were determined, where the ecological bridges were to be built on the route route and the areas to be done were reported to the General Directorate of Highways.
Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, 3 construction in Istanbul. launched work for wild animals that may be affected by the bridge. Ecological bridges will be constructed to ensure the passage of wild animals while connecting the bridge.
Thanks to the 6 bridge to be built, the living spaces of wild animals will also be preserved.
The Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs had implemented an exemplary bridge in Mersin to prevent the division of wildlife and contribute to biodiversity.
The General Directorate of Forestry, which renewed the bridge established on the motorway connecting the Mediterranean to the Central Anatolia by the Gülek Boğazı, implemented the existing bridge as the üzerinde Forest Ecosystem Bridge Gü.
- Determining the densities of living populations
The General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks and the General Directorate of Forestry have started to identify the densities of wildlife populations and hence mobility.
The areas where the ecological bridges will be built on the road route and the areas where these bridges are to be made have been reported to the General Directorate of Highways.
After the completion of the works, construction of ecological bridges will be started.
- Traffic accidents caused by the animal will be prevented
Constructing ecological structures such as overpasses and underpasses, which lead to the impoverishment of genetic resources and which lead to fragmentation of forest areas, will contribute to biodiversity.
In addition, the roads passing through the habitats of wild animals increase traffic accidents and cause loss of life and property. The project will prevent traffic accidents caused by wild animals.
Ecological bridges are planned to be implemented in other highway projects to be implemented.
