Full Support from İYİ PARTY to Kosovo's PACE Membership

Emphasizing the historical and cultural ties with Kosovo, as well as the relations developed on the basis of mutual respect and cooperation, İYİ Party Edirne Deputy Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akalın said that Turkey will always stand by Kosovo's efforts and place in the international arena during and after the independence process.

The Turkish Delegation congratulated the Prime Minister of Kosovo and the relevant delegation after the report, which envisaged Kosovo's acceptance as a full member "without preconditions", was accepted by a large majority in the parliament.

Akalın, in his statement, said, “As one of the first countries to recognize Kosovo's independence, we are proud to show that our support to Kosovo continues in this historical step. "The vote is an important turning point in consolidating Kosovo's legitimate place in the international community," he said.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akalın also recalled the support of the Turkish Delegation in the report that envisaged Kosovo's acceptance as a full member of PACE and said, “This decision is a big step for the future of Kosovo and regional peace. "This development, which will enable Kosovo to take its rightful place in the European family, will also contribute to regional stability and cooperation, but in order to ensure full membership, it must pass through the Committee of Ministers, I hope the necessary procedures will be completed as soon as possible," he said.
