Comment from Aksal on the Debt Crisis

AK Party Edirne Deputy Fatma Aksal evaluated the hanging of the municipality's previous debts as a banner in the municipality building in Keşan Municipality, which passed from AK Party to CHP in the local elections.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS WHICH SERVICE THE MONEY IS SPENT ON

Stating that what is important is not the current debts, but the service on which the money is spent, Aksal said, “We have seen this increase in recent years. It is hung in municipalities with AK Party members, which we took over. In other words, the municipalities won by both the AK Party and the CHP also hang them. So, of course, it wouldn't be right for me to say anything right now. It would not be right for me to comment, I am not familiar with the accounts. We are members of parliament, but even if there are many AK Party municipalities, we follow the work coming from Ankara. Otherwise, as a member of parliament, it is not possible for me to follow all the expenditures, tenders, works, increases and minuses made by the municipality. Where that money is spent is more important to me than how much debt you have. There comes a time when you have money in your budget and in your pocket, but you don't have any work done. But for a period of time, you owe income, but in exchange for this, certain properties have been acquired and services have been rendered. So it is not right to say we only have this much debt. "It is not correct in terms of accounting," he said.

IF THERE IS A MISTAKE, THE ROUTE TO JUDICIAL IS OPEN

Emphasizing that no matter what political party municipality it is, if there is a wrong account, the judicial remedy is open, Aksal concluded his statement as follows: "No matter what municipality it is, even if it is the AK Party municipality that hangs this, it is not right. Oh, where was this money spent? Are there any receivables that the municipality cannot collect? So he needs to do an accounting. So no matter which party it is, it must be accountable. He must be held accountable to the citizens, regardless of the municipality that made a mistake, whether it is a CHP municipality or an AK Party municipality. It would be very wrong for us not to comment on what was put there only by Keşan Municipality. Let everything come to light. After all, even if there is a mistake, the path to justice is open. “They go to court.”
