Awareness-Raising Cleaning Campaign in Bornova

The cleaning campaign, which started in Bornova Municipality Barbaros District and continued with Kazım Dirik District, came to Doğanlar and Ümit Districts.

In order to create a cleaner city, the work was carried out in Doğanlar and Ümit Neighborhoods, apart from the routine works of the Cleaning Affairs Directorate, which is on duty 326 hours a day, 85 days a week with 7 personnel and 24 vehicles. Within the scope of the study, all roads were swept with broom vehicles, garbage in the surrounding area was collected, and containers were washed.

Stating that they have made all necessary investments to keep Bornova clean, Bornova Mayor Mustafa İduğ said, “We renewed our Cleaning Works Site, vehicle fleet and equipment for a cleaner Bornova. We established a solid waste transfer station. We do not keep the garbage waiting. We switched to a 3-shift working system. Our garbage collection service continues on Sundays. We carry out this special work outside of the routine works of our Cleaning Affairs Directorate in order to raise awareness. At this point, we have a request from our citizens. Let's not forget that; The best cleaning is not to pollute. Bornova belongs to all of us,” he said.
