Drugs Hidden in Children's Coats Seized in Gürbulak

The drugs were seized by the Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement teams, on the foreign nationals who came to Gürbulak Customs Gate to enter Turkey and hidden in the lining sections of the coats of two small children, aged 3 and 6, accompanying these persons.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, two persons who came to the passenger lounge in the Gürbulak customs area to enter Turkey from Iran were evaluated as risky by the Customs Enforcement teams and were followed up. Upon the suspicion of the officer in charge while checking the luggage of the persons, a search was carried out on the coat of one of the persons, and drugs were detected hidden in the inner lining of the coat. Following the detection, the other person who attempted to escape was caught by the teams and subjected to a body search.

During the search carried out by the Customs Enforcement Teams, drugs were found hidden inside the coat of the person in question. Thereupon, the teams, who examined the coats of two small children aged 3 and 6, found that drugs were also hidden in the coats of the children. As a result of the measurements and analysis, a total of 4,5 kilograms of resin cannabis was seized.

The investigation into the incident, in which smugglers tried to use innocent children for their dirty purposes, continues before the Doğubayazıt Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
