Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer opened the Üçkuyu Village Village Life Center and Üçkuyu Primary School in Avanos district of Nevşehir.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that they have increased Nevşehir's 2022 education investments budget to 260 million TL by making additions to the investments made to increase the quality of education in the city and to strengthen equality of opportunity in education within the scope of their Nevşehir contacts.

Minister Özer stated that as the Ministry of National Education, they provide services not only to the education age population, but also to all citizens over the age of 18 with public education centers and maturation institutes in order to increase the quality of human capital, Turkey's most valuable capital, and said: We wanted to bring back to life the village schools, which were kept idle in our villages in order to carry them to higher dimensions, which had previously served as schools but have been closed for many years, because especially after the Kovid-19 epidemic, there has been a return from metropolises to cities, from cities to districts, and from districts to villages all over the world. At the same time, a sector that is as critical as energy has emerged: agriculture and animal husbandry. We are a very strong country in agriculture and animal husbandry. We can make this much stronger. This is the starting point of the project. We wanted our children in our villages to receive primary school education in the places where they are, without going to different places with bussed education. That's why we changed the regulation. Now, all our village schools in Turkey will be able to be opened if requested, regardless of the number of students, and our children will be able to receive education there. Again, we reduced the number of students from 10 to 5 regarding the opening of kindergartens in villages. Just with this step, 1.800 thousand of our babies in our 20 villages met with kindergartens. Then we said let's not just put the village primary school and kindergarten into operation. Public education courses should be opened to citizens living in the village. Let's act together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry there. Let's bring over 3 different courses on agriculture and animal husbandry to the feet of our citizens and villagers here.”

Stating that the village life centers project they started in Samsun has spread to every part of Turkey, Özer shared the information that they have transformed 522 village schools, which have been idle until now, into village life centers. Stating that they will increase this number to 12 by September 2022, 1000, Minister Özer stated that they will serve both children and adults in the village life centers and continued his words as follows: “For the first time, a model has emerged in Turkey. Our esteemed citizens living here will not only receive courses through public education centers, but will also receive education side by side with their children and grandchildren. For the first time, we will unite the adults and children of that region under the same school roof. We will start this movement from the villages. By the end of the year, we will put into service about 6 village schools that are idle, hopefully. We will have it repaired quickly.”

Wishing the Üçkuyu Village Village Life Center and Primary School good luck, Özer cut a ribbon with the protocol members and village residents and made the opening.
