With the road map drawn by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to make the city resistant to disasters after the October 30 earthquake, significant progress was achieved in a year. On the one hand, we made an inventory of the existing building stock in the city with the Izmir Branch of the Chamber of Civil Engineers, on the other hand, we took action for seismicity research and soil behavior model with the contribution of 10 universities under the coordination of METU. This work, which is the first in Turkey and very few examples in the world, will be completed within 30 months. In addition, we announced that we would give a precedent increase for all buildings that received a moderate or severe damage report after the October 30 earthquake. 200 million lira resource

Beside the earthquake victims

Bringing together earthquake survivors and those who want to support them in order to solve the housing problem, the Metropolitan Municipality signed the "One Rent One Home" campaign. Solved the housing problem

The Metropolitan Municipality also provided the earthquake victims with free accommodation for one year in the residences in Uzundere. 5 rooms of a 380-star hotel building were opened to earthquake victims. Building identification system is being installed
