TOKKDER announced that the new SCT reduction in motor caravans will contribute to tourism and industry. Speaking about the reduction of the SCT applied on motor caravans from 220% to 45%, All Car Rental Organizations Association (TOKKDER) Chairman of the Board İnan Ekici emphasized that the regulation was a turning point and said, “Within the scope of the new legal regulations published in the Official Gazette, We are very pleased that the SCT to be collected from motor caravans has been reduced to 45%. As a result of this development, we will witness together a new understanding of holiday and the formation of new customer groups, the development of parks in the caravan tourism ecosystem, and the increase in the number of domestic and international customers. Finally, we believe that this area, whose potential will not be limited only to tourism, will be an important step in terms of production in terms of industry, and will carry Turkey further with its contribution to employment and our export position.” said.

A statement came from the Association of All Car Rental Organizations (TOKKDER) regarding the reduction of SCT applied on motor caravans from 220% to 45%. In his assessment, TOKKDER Chairman of the Board İnan Ekici stated that in addition to the reasonable SCT rates, the introduction of institutional qualifications for caravan production will play a key role in terms of caravan production, exports and ecosystem in Turkey. Indicating that the arrangement was a turning point, İnan Ekici said, “As a result of this development, we will witness a new holiday understanding and the formation of new customer groups, the development of parks in the caravan tourism ecosystem to be formed, and the increase in the number of domestic and international customers. Finally, we believe that this area, whose potential will not be limited only to tourism, will be an important step in terms of production in terms of industry, and will carry Turkey further with its contribution to employment and our export position.” said.

Growth in the US and EU is an important indicator

Emphasizing that one of the most important trends triggered by the Covid-19 epidemic, which started a year and a half ago, is caravan tourism, TOKKDER Chairman of the Board İnan Ekici stated that the changing holiday needs further enrich the opportunities Turkey faces. Inan Ekici said, “The European Caravan Federation data explains the number of caravans registered in the member countries of the Union as 2019 in 5.683.860 data. Of this number, 3.462.449 are caravans and 2.221.411 are motor caravans. According to the current data of the German Caravan Industry Association, when looking at the annual period, the number of caravans registered in the European Union between September 2020 and March 2021 has increased by 33,7% compared to the previous year. The two reference markets for the caravan industry, the USA and the European Union, showed high growth rates. However, due to the fact that the cost of owning a motorhome in our country has been high due to the SCT, the ownership rate and the investments of the car rental sector in this area have unfortunately been limited.” gave the information.

“We are very pleased”

Indicating that with the regulation made, Turkey will now take an important wind in the field of caravans, TOKKDER Chairman of the Board İnan Ekici said, “As TOKKDER, it is great that the SCT to be collected from motor caravans has been reduced to 45% within the scope of the new legal regulations published in the Official Gazette. We are pleased. Especially TR Ministry of Treasury and Finance, TR Ministry of Culture and Tourism and TR Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure; We sincerely thank all our official institutions and managers who supported this development, which we believe will have a great contribution to the country's economy, as well as our non-governmental organizations in both automotive and other professional groups for their contributions.”
