A dent occurred in the Kızılay Güvenpark section of the Atatürk Cultural Center-Gar-Kızılay metro line project in Ankara. No injuries were reported during the approximately 10-meter-wide dent.
While the works on the Atatürk Cultural Center-Gar-Kızılay metro line project were continuing, a dent occurred at around 08.30 in the Kızılay Güvenpark section. The dent formed in the park with a width of 10 meters made the people around. Officers dispatched to the area took precautions. While the security line was withdrawn, the people around were removed from the area. Police and fire crews are waiting in the area as a precaution.
Eser Aksoy, who passed through the area just before the collapse, said, “As I was passing by, there was a sound and then it collapsed. I narrowly escaped. It crashed in an instant. It was in a narrow space when it first started, and it got bigger and bigger. It is said that he collapsed because the scissors broke in the subway work, and then we felt the tremors on the ground,” he said.
On the other hand, it was learned that the company, which carries out the works of the metro line, has started a study on the dent.
