Mersin Buyuksehir Drivers Received Pedestrian Training First in Traffic

'Pedestrian First in Traffic' training was organized for public transport drivers serving under Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. Pedestrian priority in traffic was the main subject of the training, which was received in groups by approximately 750 drivers serving within the metropolitan area.

The training held at the Congress and Exhibition Center was held by the Mersin Provincial Police Department Traffic Inspection Branch within the scope of the 'Pedestrians Red Line' application initiated by the Ministry of Interior.

In the training given by Ömer Şen, a police officer and driving techniques trainer at the Traffic Control Branch Training Bureau, with the slogan 'Pedestrian Priority is Our Red Line', it was explained that the first right of way at pedestrians and school crossings belongs to pedestrians. In the training where the accidents that occur in traffic situations that are not pedestrian priority are exemplified with videos, traffic accidents in Mersin and Turkey in 2020 and the death and injury rates caused by these accidents were also shared.
