Transport and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan announced that the tender for the Samsun-Ankara high-speed railway project will be held at the end of this year, and the construction work of the Samsun-Ankara highway project has come to an end.
QUICK TRAIN TENDER AT THE END OF THE YEAR
Minister Turhan also gave information about transportation investments in Samsun and said that the works on the Samsun-Sivas line, which provides connection to the Central Anatolia Region by rail, are at the final stage.
Stating that the Samsun-Sivas Railway line will be opened within a month, Turhan said:
“We have projects that we plan to do in the field of transportation related to Samsun. Because Samsun is an important center of the region in the fields of industry, agriculture, tourism, trade and logistics. Anatolia's gateway to the world through its ports. Therefore, we are close to the end of the Ankara Samsun Fast Railway Project. At the end of this year, we hope to complete the project and then make the tender. This will further strengthen the transportation infrastructure of our Samsun. In other words, this high speed rail will integrate Mersin Port and Samsun Port with the rail system.
SAMSUN-ANKARA HIGHWAY AT THE LAST STAGE
Work is continuing to connect Samsun to Ankara with a highway standard highway project. We are approaching the final stage of this project with the Ankara-Samsun Motorway and subsequently Bafra and Ünye Ring Road. In the first place, we plan to tender the Ankara-Delice section with the build-operate-transfer method. After that, we will carry out these projects to tender the remaining sections and strengthen the transportation infrastructure of our region. ”
