Kadir Topbaş, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, explained the new project that will comfort those who prefer public transportation in Istanbul.
Stating that metrobus is a great need in Istanbul, Kadir Topbaş said that they will not increase the number of metrobuses because the increasing number will create greater problems in the stations.
Mayor Topbaş stated that they have created a new electronic control system for the solution of the density and problems experienced in metrobust, and they are aware of the congestion and they are about to activate an intelligent system that will guide the traffic.
'We will ensure the communication between the buses by establishing a radio ring. We are planning a command control center that controls only the BRT line. With this system, we enter into a historical study by seeing the crowds on the screens and sending empty buses to very crowded places. We also have other system works related to metrobus. On the Beylikdüzü metrobus line, we are currently carrying passengers with a test drive. The escalators and elevators are still not finished yet. If you are paying attention, we were able to build more comfortable stations because that area was more available. Hunters turned into a good station too, that previous chaos is over. There are complaints for buses. In the world literature, normally the passenger carrying capacity by buses is 12 thousand or 15 thousand per hour. We have reached 33 thousand people. So this is not going to happen with buses. There should be light subway and rail system for so many passengers. Because 35 thousand, 50 thousand passengers mean light subway.
