Storks' Nests Saved from Demolition

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality carried out the maintenance and repair of the stork nest in Kandıra Kocakaymaz District, which was bent due to the wind and was in danger of collapse. Residents of Kocakaymaz District saw that the unused telephone pole in front of the Hacıgaziler Mosque, where storks had built their nests, was lying on its side. Upon the citizens' notification, Kocakaymaz Neighborhood Headman Sedat Değer reported the situation to the Metropolitan Municipality through the "Mukhtar Active System" and requested that the stork's nest be repaired.

REPAIR OF THE STORK'S NEST BY TEAM A

Headman's Affairs Department Headman's Branch Directorate forwarded the issue to the Rural Services Branch Directorate for evaluation of the request. Team A teams went to the scene and carried out the maintenance and repair of the telephone pole, which was tilted sideways due to the wind. The teams also cleaned the stork nest. Then, the male and female storks settled in the nest. There are many stork nests in Kocakaymaz District, where storks come frequently in the spring and build nests. The neighborhood headman and citizens thanked the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality teams for the work done.
