Rahmi M. Koç Museum pioneers the artificial intelligence-supported museum experience within the scope of the CULTURATI Project

Istanbul Rahmi M. Koç Museum participated in the international event of the CULTURATI Project, which is carried out within the scope of the HORIZON EUROPE Program supported by the European Commission, to support the cultural and artistic ecosystem of Europe, bringing together more than 80 local and foreign stakeholders from the world of NGOs, academia, art and technology. hosted. Rahmi M. Koç Museum, Turkey's first and only industrial museum, which is one of the components of the CULTURATI consortium, will be the first museum in Turkey where applications developed within the scope of the project, creating personalized travel routes and enriching the visitor experience with games, with the support of new generation technologies and artificial intelligence, will be implemented.

The second international event of the CULTURATI Project, which was implemented with a total of 14 partner organizations from Germany, Finland, Spain, Italy, Turkey and England, under the coordination of Bilkent University, with the aim of promoting Europe's cultural heritage and supporting and strengthening the creative and artistic production ecosystem, will be held in Istanbul on April 19. It was held at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum.

Participants of the event included representatives from project partner universities, non-governmental organizations and technology companies, as well as Consuls General of relevant countries, cultural attachés, representatives of museums and art foundations, academicians and members of the press. Within the scope of the event, where the current stage of the project, goals and cooperation opportunities were shared, Prof. from the Business Management Department of Foggia University, Italy. The first multi-partner project coordinated by Turkey

The project titled “CULTURATI – Customized Games and Routes for Cultural Heritage and Arts” is a Culture, Creativity and Arts project within the scope of the HORIZON EUROPE Programme, the world's largest civil R&D and innovation program supported by the European Commission. It is the first multi-partner project coordinated by a Turkish organization in the Inclusive Societies Cluster. The project aims to create an inclusive cultural heritage and art ecosystem by providing a global platform where artists, institutions and individuals from across Europe create content.

The first application will be in Istanbul Rahmi M. Koç Museum.

Within the scope of the project, applications that will enrich the visitor experience with the use of the Internet of Things (IoT), sensors, artificial intelligence, cloud and mobile technologies will be implemented in open or closed venue and field-based museums, art galleries, art fairs, biennial events, historical buildings and city centers. Turkey's first and only industrial museum, Rahmi M. Koç Museum, which is part of the consortium carrying out the CULTURATI Project, is preparing to be the first museum in Turkey to experience various applications such as gamified and personalized travel routes, in addition to visitor and capacity management.

Stating that they are excited to be a part of the project, Rahmi M. Koç Museum General Manager Mine Sofuoğlu emphasized that technology provides opportunities for innovative approaches in the field of culture and arts, as in every field. Drawing attention to the importance of the visitor-oriented museology approach, Sofuoğlu said, “I believe that the CULTURATI project, in addition to its contribution to tourism, will encourage visitors to take a closer interest in cultural heritage and art. Through this platform, a digital connection is established between cultural institutions, content producers and visitors. "We are proud to lead our visitors of all ages to experience this different experience for the first time in our museum, with our collection consisting of more than 16 thousand pieces," he said.
