"We aim to achieve our export targets in 2024 with TURQUALITY, UR-GE projects, Sectoral Trade Delegations and Procurement Delegation organizations, and we aim to exceed the 10 billion dollar export threshold in 2024 with a 1 percent increase," said Gürle and continued as follows; “When we look at the first two months of 2024, we see a 6 percent increase compared to the previous year. In order to reach a 10 percent average export increase, we need to work harder and produce more projects in 2024. Our Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Ur-Ge Project, Turkish Herbal Tea Turquality Project, Furniture Turquality Project, Aegean Furniture Ur-Ge Project, Game Changing Design Competition, Procurement Delegation and Sectoral Trade Delegations, Fair organizations, our new projects we have implemented to reach the 1 billion dollar export target. . “Our consultations are continuing to add rings to these projects.”
WE ARE TRYING TO DIVERSIFY OUR EXPORT MARKETS
Providing information about the strong markets of the Aegean Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association in 2023, Union President Ali Fuar Gürle said, “The countries to which we export the most in medicinal and aromatic plants, which we call non-wood forest products, are the USA, Germany and France, respectively. We make 94 percent of Turkey's thyme exports from the Aegean Region. Our strongest product in exporting non-wood forest products is thyme. Our main export markets in the Paper Industry are; "While Iran, Egypt and England, we exported the most from the Aegean in the furniture industry to Germany, the Netherlands and the USA in 2023," he summarized.
