Aegean Exporters Will Concentrate on China

Aegean Exporters' Association, which wants to strengthen its position in the Chinese market with the motto "If China is not far to buy, it is not far to sell", is preparing to step up its marketing activities for the Chinese market in 2024 within the scope of "Target Market China" studies.

Informing that they have been working intensively on the Chinese market since 2019 within the scope of their "Target Market China" studies, Aegean Exporters' Associations Coordinator President Jak Eskinazi emphasized that 300 million people with high income levels live in China and said, "China is not a country, but a It is necessary to think like a continent and develop a strategy accordingly. The latest project being worked on by our "China Team" within the Aegean Exporters' Association, which focuses on projects to increase exports from Turkey to China, is to open a digital marketplace in China by establishing a digital office in China. With the digital marketplace it will establish in China, we will focus on country and product promotions and improve our brand image on e-commerce channels JD, Tmall, Ali Baba's platform HEMA, Wechat, Weibo, China's Instagram Little Red Book, Tiktok and Douyin. Emphasizing China's annual food import of 210 billion dollars, Eskinazi said, “Our food product exports from Turkey to China are at the level of 220 million dollars. The Aegean Region is a strong food supplier. We aim to increase our food product exports to China to 1 billion dollars, with the Aegean Region as the locomotive. For this purpose, at the end of 2023, in cooperation with PttAVM.com, we organized a "Target China Seminar" on login methods to Chinese e-commerce sites," he said.

Touching on the importance of inter-state dialogue in order to diversify exports from Turkey to China, Eskinazi said, “We ask our President and Ministers to request export permits for the product groups in which Turkey can export to China, in which it is strong, in their meetings with their Chinese counterparts. Networking is very important in China. We see that countries that act as a single power in the Chinese market are successful. “This is how we can be successful.” he said.

Stating that China's identity as an importer as well as its exporter identity predominates, Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator President of the Aegean Exporters' Associations, pointed out that although the Chinese economy suffered from recovery pains after the Covid-19 epidemic, it imported 3,3 trillion dollars against 2,6 trillion dollars of exports.
