CHP Member Keskin Called for “Urgent Measures” for Hatay

Republican People's Party (CHP) Payas District Chairman Erdinç Keskin said that the promises made after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023 were not kept.

Pointing out that new problems await the earthquake victims, who spent the winter months in very difficult conditions, with the warming of the weather, Mayor Keskin said, “Geographical conditions and debris formed due to the earthquake caused an increase in insects. As the weather gets warmer, insect infestation also increases. "If urgent measures are not taken, serious health threats await our citizens," he said.

THE HOUSING PROMISE WAS NOT KEPT

Pointing out that none of the promises made to the earthquake victims were kept, Mayor Keskin said, “More than a year has passed since the earthquake. However, our citizens were still forced to struggle to survive in containers. The housing promise was not kept. No one is held accountable for how the money collected for earthquake victims was spent. Despite all the warnings, the debris falling randomly after the earthquake continues to cause serious problems today. The people of Hatay, who are made to need clean water and clean air, do not deserve these. Keep the promises!” He warned.
