18 Million TL Support to Farmers from Mayor Büyükkılıç

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç distributed 20 tons of chickpea seeds worth 1498 million 17 TL thousand TL, which will be planted on a total of 700 thousand decares of land and will benefit 300 farmers.

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, Mayor Dr. Under the leadership of Memduh Büyükkılıç, it continues its work at full speed in order to focus on agricultural production and support farmers who produce.

Within the scope of the Chickpea Seed Distribution Project, a ceremony was held to distribute 16 tons of chickpea seeds to producers in 300 districts.

The ceremony held by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality at Kadir Has Congress Center was attended by Mayor Büyükkılıç, Kayseri Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Bülent Saklav, Kayseri Chambers of Agriculture Provincial Coordination Board and Kocasinan Chamber of Agriculture President Abdulkadir Güneş, Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Hüseyin Beyhan, general Deputy secretaries, department heads, representatives of the chamber of agriculture and farmers attended.

Speaking at the Chickpea Seed Distribution Ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç thanked the agriculture-loving and production-loving friends and said that they exhibited the best examples of solidarity, unity and togetherness in Kayseri, the city of peace, and that they experienced the abundance of this.

Underlining that they display the best examples of solidarity with institutions and organizations, Mayor Büyükkılıç said, “Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality is known as the municipality that allocates the most share and supports investment in the field of agriculture among the municipalities. We do not want Kayseri to be known not only as the city of industry and commerce, but also to make a name for itself in areas such as the center of agriculture, animal husbandry and tourism. "We are talking about a city that ranks first among products," he said.

Emphasizing the importance of being a self-sufficient city in the field of agriculture, Büyükkılıç said, “We will produce, export, provide added value, create employment and thus provide the greatest support to our country. A self-sufficient city and a self-sufficient country in terms of food and agriculture is a must, and this can be achieved by supporting the producers. "We can hardly carry the producers on our backs, we try to be worthy of our producers, we try to do whatever we can," he said.

A DOCTOR AS PRESIDENT MENTIONED THE BENEFITS OF ASPIRIN

Reminding that 200 tons of support in chickpea distribution increased to 300 tons, Mayor Büyükkılıç explained that they were the first in Turkey in safflower production and that he was one of the first mayors to start it during his term as Melikgazi Mayor, and talked about the benefits of aspirin as a doctor mayor.

Büyükkılıç stated that they will continue to produce and said, “We will not ignore safflower, we will produce it, we will continue to be in the first place in Turkey. We produce strawberry seedlings, we are in the top 10. We export as far as India. These examples can be multiplied, hopefully we will be productive and contribute to our country's economy. "Let's be producers, the support is from us, the production is from you, our farmer friends, we are glad to have you," he said.

Kayseri Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Bülent Saklav also gave information to the participants and pointed out that Kayseri is a city of agriculture and animal husbandry as well as trade and industry.

Stating that the seed distributions were carried out with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and district municipalities, Saklav noted that 700 tons of seeds will be distributed at the Chickpea Distribution Ceremony, 400 tons of which will be with the support of the ministry and 300 tons will be with the support of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality. .

Reminding that Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality provided approximately 500 million TL of support to Kayseri farmers in 5 years and underlining that this support is the first and only in Turkey, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Saklav continued his words as follows:

“When it comes to seed distribution and support for agricultural production, it is necessary to open a parenthesis to Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality; When we look at the data, our Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has not only provided seed support to our farmers, but also provided tool, equipment support, agricultural irrigation support, support in pasture improvement projects, plaster support and many other supports, approximately 500 million TL to our Kayseri farmers in 5 years. This is the first and only in Turkey. I would like to remind this and that is why our esteemed Metropolitan Mayor Dr. We would like to thank Memduh Büyükkılıç and all municipal officials wholeheartedly. We hope that it will continue to increase in the new period.”

Saklav thanked the institutions and organizations that support agricultural production and wished that the seeds distributed would be beneficial and fruitful.

Describing the seed distribution ceremonies as his favorite ceremony, Kayseri Chambers of Agriculture Provincial Coordination Board and Kocasinan Chamber of Agriculture President Abdulkadir Güneş said, “Thanks to our brother Memduh, he held a seed tender as every year. Thank God, it increased to 300 tons. "As always, he did not spare his support to the farmers," he said, adding that Mayor Büyükkılıç's support for the farmers was not limited to this. Güneş stated that Büyükkılıç provides approximately 200-300 million liras of support every year with machinery and equipment aid. Adding that farming and production in Kayseri are good and that they are getting better with the support, Güneş thanked Mayor Büyükkılıç, the Metropolitan Municipality, the Provincial and District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Soil Products Office.

Following the speeches, 16 tons of chickpea seeds were distributed at a cost of 498 million 17 thousand TL, which will benefit 700 farmers in 300 districts.

A TOTAL OF 700 TONS OF SEEDS WERE DISTRIBUTED

In addition, at the seed supply ceremony supported by the Governorship and Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of the project of activating the use of agricultural lands carried out by the General Directorate of Crop Production of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, a total of 372 tons of chickpeas, 247 tons of safflower, 32 tons of green lentils, 7 tons of sorghum sudan and 45 tons of dry beans were provided to the producers. Bean seeds were distributed.
