Women Entrepreneurs of Food and Agriculture Wanted

Applications have started for the EWA (Empowering Women in Agrifood) Programme, which aims to increase the number of early-stage ventures led by women in the agriculture and food sector in Turkey and to provide entrepreneurs with the necessary information, confidence and support to mature their business models.

EWA Turkey, organized for the fifth time this year, aims to reach early stage startups that will create a transformative impact in the agriculture and food sector and to bring these startups to the sector.

Application conditions for the program, which can be applied until May 31, are as follows:

  • The founder or co-founder of the applicant startup must be a woman
  • residing in Turkey
  • Being in the early stage startup process that will make an impact in the agriculture and food sectors
  • If the enterprise is incorporated, its activity should not exceed 2 years.
  • If the venture is incorporated, the company must not have received a total investment of more than 30.000 euros since its establishment.

After the applications are examined by experts in the field, they are evaluated in the light of the criteria communicated by EIT Food. After a shortlist of 25 people is created, the EWA team gets to know the entrepreneurs better in online meetings. The 10 startups that qualify to participate in the program are determined in June.
