What Should Turkey's Road Map in Logistics Be?

Due to its geographical location, Türkiye is positioned as an important logistics base in regional and global logistics networks.

However, in terms of sustainability of international competition and efficiency, Turkey's road map in logistics needs to be determined. Commenting on the subject, Globelink Ünimar Chief Executive Officer Fatih Baş said; He stated that digitalization, infrastructure strengthening and sustainability issues will come to the fore.

“There has been a great transformation in the sector, especially in recent years, with the influence of digitalization. As in every field, the logistics sector is one of the sectors that benefits significantly from digitalization in both storage and customs. In Turkey's logistics road map, technology and digitalization are seen as the key to transformation. Investment planning for smart logistics technologies should be included in the road map to make processes in the supply chain transparent, increase customer satisfaction and reduce costs.

INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS COME TO THE FOREGOING

When looking at the short and long-term road map, investment plans for strengthening and modernizing the logistics infrastructure come to the fore.

Türkiye is a geographically advantageous country because it acts as a bridge between East and West. On the other hand, some developments in the world also play an important role in determining the road map. For example; The developments in the Red Sea showed us that alternative transportation modes should always be found in international trade. In addition, the fact that our country has integrated transportation modes shows that it is very close to its goal of becoming the logistics base of the region. In this regard, I think that infrastructure improvements in transportation modes such as road, railway, sea and air should be given priority in the road map.
