Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay took the first step to implement the water discount promise he made during the election period. The Presidential proposal for a 25 percent reduction in water tariffs applied by IZSU General Directorate was discussed at the first meeting of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Council in the new term and sent to the relevant commissions.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay is fulfilling his election promises one by one. Following the discount made at Halk Ekmek, action was taken to reduce water tariffs. According to the motion added to the agenda by the Presidency in the first parliamentary session of the new term; İZSU General Directorate will apply a 4 percent discount on the first 25 cubic meters of water consumption costs of all subscribers.
The proposal was referred to the Plan Budget Commission, Budget and Law Commission and Tradesmen and Consumer Protection Commission. The water discount proposal will come to the agenda of the parliament after being discussed in the relevant commissions. The proposal that will come to the parliament will be decided after it is voted. The discounted water tariff is planned to come into force as of June 1.
