The Number of Wastewater Treatment Plants Exceeds Thousand!

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Özhaseki announced that they increased the number of wastewater treatment facilities, which was 2002 in 145, to 213.

Stating that the Ministry is working on the reuse of treated wastewater, Minister Özhaseki said that they aim to increase the reuse rate of treated wastewater, which is currently 5,30 percent, to 2028 percent in 11. He said that they aim to protect human health.

Providing information about wastewater treatment facilities in cities, Minister Özhaseki noted that regarding the ongoing wastewater treatment facility works in the provinces, the construction process of our advanced biological wastewater treatment facilities is ongoing in 3 of the provinces with existing wastewater treatment facilities, and the project process is ongoing in 3 of them. .

Minister Özhaseki stated that support was also provided for the construction of regular storage facilities within the scope of the Solid Waste Program (KAP) project, which was initiated to support waste infrastructure projects that municipalities have difficulty in financing, in order to minimize the effects of municipal waste on human and environmental health and realize their effective management. He stated that priority was given to places without facilities.
