Kocaeli City Hospital Tram Line Project, which will facilitate Kocaeli's urban traffic and transportation to the City Hospital, was put into operation with a program.

At the ceremony held with the participation of Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, Minister Uraloğlu said that the tram line will provide free service until the holiday.

264 BILLION INVESTMENT IN KOCAELİ

In his speech, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdülkadir Uraloğlu wished the new tram line to be beneficial. Stating that, as the Ministry, they invested 264 billion liras in Kocaeli, Minister Uraloğlu said, “The variety of transportation opportunities makes Kocaeli very advantageous. Foreign capital and businesses prefer Kocaeli the most. We turned it into an international trade center. We connected it with Istanbul and other neighboring provinces via divided roads. We introduced High Speed ​​Train to Kocaeli. We are opening a new line with the Gebze-Darıca metro that will serve 330 thousand passengers a day. "It will also be integrated into the Marmaray line." said.

WE COMPLETED IT IN 1,5 YEARS

Minister Uraloğlu said, “We are undertaking the rail lines to further ease the traffic in Kocaeli. I am happy to put the Kocaeli City Hospital tram line into service. We started in November 2022. We finished it in a short time of 1,5 years. Our line consists of 5 stations. With our line, transportation to the City Hospital is reduced to 15 minutes. "The tram has the capacity to carry 15 thousand people a day," he said.

Stating that the line, which has 5 stations, will carry 210 thousand citizens a day, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, "Our line will also be integrated with the Plajyolu tram line from the Otogar station." Uraloğlu stated that, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, they continue the 416 Kilometer urban rail system project and said, “We included the 26,8 kilometer Kocaeli Northern Metro in the investment program. “We will also hold the tender this year.” When we finish it, its name will be KörfezRay. Addressing Minister Uraloğlu, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın said, “We will disturb you a lot in the coming period for the logistics village. It is also very important for ports to meet their foreign trade targets. "We will disturb you greatly about this issue in the coming period," he said.

With the new tram line, transportation to Kocaeli City Hospital will be reduced to 15 minutes. The line, which has five stations, can carry 210 thousand passengers a day. The line will also be integrated with the Beach Tram Line from the Bus Terminal Station. The stops of the line consist of Kanal Boyu, Turan Güneş, Başaran, FTR and City Hospital stops.
