Extraordinary General Assembly of Nilüfer Belediyespor Club was held at Nilüfer Municipality Wedding House. The Extraordinary General Assembly was attended by Nuray Özdemir, wife of Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir, as well as Nilüfer Deputy Mayors Serpil Altun, Mahmut Demiröz and Okan Şahin; Nilüfer Municipal Council Members, CHP Nilüfer District Chairman Özgür Şahin, CHP former Provincial Chairman Turgut Özkan, former Nilüfer Sports Club President Tamer İşler and general assembly members attended.
The Chairman of the Extraordinary General Assembly was Yücel Akbulut, and the members were Hülya Akgül and Kenan Daştan. After a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, the activity report, account reports and audit board reports were read. The reports were unanimously acquitted. In the proposal to change the club title and statute, it was decided to remove the phrase 'association' from the club's name and become Nilüfer Belediyespor Club.
Muharrem Or participated in the election as the only candidate at the Extraordinary General Assembly. In his speech, Muharrem Or thanked the board of directors and the president for their performance and service in the previous period. Stating that they have a very deep-rooted club, Or said that the club has become a school in some branches such as handball and volleyball. Expressing that they aim to carry their success to higher levels, Or noted that they will work with the awareness of what the sports policy is in local governments.
Stating that he has been interested in athletics for 50 years and has a high-level trainer certificate, Or explained that their first goal is to provide the necessary infrastructure facilities, materials, trainers and sports fields to enable all city people to do healthy sports. Explaining that they will strengthen the infrastructure, especially in branches such as volleyball and handball, Or noted that they will work to establish a system that can take it further. Stating that there are many physical education teachers who cannot be appointed, Or stated that they want to benefit from them as well.
Stating that the general assembly members left Nilüfer Belediyespor Club in safe hands, Or noted that they will implement the right policies by involving all sports layers. Stating that they met with academics of certain universities, Or explained that they are planning a workshop on what kind of sports policy should be implemented locally and in general. Or said, “As soon as we reach the maturity to implement this, we will share it with the public. "We will determine our sports policy within the framework of the policies," he said.
