On the 104th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day celebrations started with the representative office transfer ceremonies held today. Within the scope of the ceremony of children taking the executive chair as a representation, which has become a tradition of April 23, İnegöl Mayor Alper Taban left his position to Müşerref Muzaffer Samda Primary School 4th Grade Student Ayşe Zehra Uslu for a while.
Ayşe Zehra Uslu, who took over the Mayor's seat during the transfer ceremony held at 09.30 this morning, also made a speech about the meaning and importance of the day. Küçük Mayor Uslu started his speech by congratulating Mayor Taban, who was re-elected as İnegöl Mayor in the local elections of March 31, 2024.

Asking adults to leave a livable future for children, Ayşe Zehra Uslu said, "The founder of the Republic of Turkey and the first Speaker of the Assembly, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, said, 'Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation.' As today's little ones and tomorrow's adults, we have only one request from you: On behalf of all children, we want you to leave a livable future for us children. We want you to leave a clean environment, clean air, clean water, in short, a clean nature. "I congratulate all children on April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day," he said.

Reminding that while children's day is celebrated in our country, wars occur and children die in other countries of the world, Uslu said, “I do not want any child in the world to cry. While we celebrate the holiday, we also want our brothers who are struggling to survive under the bombs in Gaza to smile. "I end my words with my wishes for all wars in the world to end as soon as possible and for all children to smile," he said.
After the speech, Mayor Uslu called some department managers and conveyed his instructions. Mayor Alper Taban also supported junior Mayor Ayşe Zehra Uslu's clean environment speeches and informed her about the practices and studies carried out in this field.
