Continue the Historical Tour with Spil Mountain Climbing

A striking situation was revealed before the fifth day of the 59th Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye. The Turquoise Jersey, which will determine the winner of the General Individual Classification, changed hands 4 times until the fifth day of the TOUR, which started with the Antalya-Antalya stage on Sunday. Tobias Andresen from DSM-Firmenich Team, who finished the Bodrum-Kuşadası stage in first place, carried the Turquoise Jersey throughout the stage.

As a result of these movements, 7 athletes broke away from the peloton and widened the time gap to 55 seconds. Antonio Polga (Novo Nordisk), Mauro Velwit (Tarteletto), Oliver Mattheis (Bike Aid), Jacob Scoot (Rembe), Genki Yamamaton (Kinan), Michal Pomorski and Konrad Czabok (Mazowsze) started to open the gap with an increasing pace. Meanwhile, Buğra Tahir Yiğit from Spor Toto Team attacked from the peloton to catch the escape group. As the 24th kilometer passed, the escape group of 7 made a difference to the peloton by 2 minutes and 25 seconds. B.Tahir Yiğit has not been able to catch the escape group yet.

AT THE END OF THE 5TH STAGE, THE SWIMSUITS FOUND THEIR OWNERS

The Spor Toto-sponsored Turquoise Jersey, given to the leader of the general classification, was won by Tobias Lund Andresen from the DSM-firmenich team. Aydın Youth and Sports Provincial Director Cenap Birlikçioğlu dressed the Belgian athlete in his swimsuit.

Giovanni Lonardi from Polti Kometa Team won the Mosso-sponsored Green Jersey, which is given to the leader of the points classification. Didim District Governor Can Kazım Kuruca dressed the athlete in his swimsuit.

Vinzent Dorn from the Bike Aid team won the Turkish Airlines Red Jersey, which is given to the leader of the King of the Mountains class. Söke District Governor Ali Akçe presented the swimsuit to the athlete.

Vinzent Dorn from the Bike Aid team won the White Swimsuit sponsored by goturkiye.com, which is given to the leader of the Turkish Beauties class. Kuşadası District Governor İbrahim Tekli dressed the athlete in his swimsuit.

TODAY IS THE STAGE THAT WILL DETERMINE THE FATE OF THE TOUR

The 59th Presidential Turkey Cycling Tour will continue tomorrow with the 160.1 kilometer Kuşadası-Manisa (Spil Mountain) climbing stage. As in previous years, it is expected that the athlete who wins this stage, called the "Queen Stage", will largely guarantee the 2024 championship. All eyes are on the hill climbers for the climbing stage, which sprinter cyclists do not like very much.
