Ali Fuat Gürle, President of the Aegean Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association, stated that Turkey left behind a difficult year in the Furniture, Paper and Forest Products sector in 2023, and said, “Turkey's overall export performance of the three sectors we represent will decrease by 2023% in 6. President Gürle said, “When we look at the export values of the 3 sectors we represent, we can say that even though we are above the country average in terms of export quality, the share we receive from Turkey's overall exports as Aegean is below our potential. As our Aegean Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association, we have determined our sector target for 2024 as 1 billion dollars. Our aim in all sectors we represent is not only to increase export figures, but also to increase our unit prices and, with the effect of this, our total exports by exporting more value-added products with more value-added, design-oriented exports. Furniture When we consider our sectors separately, the furniture sector is one of the sectors that has been positively affected by the change in global supply chains, especially in the last two years, and thus increased its potential. In the furniture industry, where we are among the top 8 in world exports, our target is to be in the top 5 and above. "The furniture sector is also the sector that is closest to the 2023 - 100th anniversary export targets of our Republic and constantly produces a foreign trade surplus." he said.
