Removing the debris without adequate technical examination makes it impossible to collect evidence. Detection of all suspects, determination of fault situations and ensuring that those responsible for the disaster do not go unpunished depend on the proper detection of evidence. The Union of Turkish Bar Associations implemented the Debris Radar application to reveal the negligence.

WHAT IS THE DECREASE RADAR APPLICATION?

The debris radar application allows to record all the debris in the earthquake area. In the statement, it was emphasized that the detection of all suspects, the determination of their fault status and the fact that those responsible for the disaster do not go unpunished depend on the sound detection of the evidence, the following was noted:

“As TBB, with the Debris Radar application, we record every building that has collapsed and reveal the negligence.

We invite volunteers in the earthquake area, together with our colleagues who will work in the field, to help collect evidence by creating an image archive for the judicial process and to use the free Debris Radar mobile application.

By recording all the debris in the earthquake area, we can help justice be served together. None of our citizens will be left defenseless.”

HOW TO USE THE DECREASE RADAR APPLICATION?

  • Download the debris radar application via the iOS application.
  • Open the app
  • Determine the location and full address of the wreck.
  • Upload wide-angle photos and videos of the wreck from every possible direction to the app.
  • Include close-up photos of rebars.
  • Photograph the thickness of the iron used by comparing it with a pen, coin or measuring it with a ruler.
  • If you can view the internal structure of a column or beam, photograph the apparent rebar condition.
  • Upload video footage showing the general condition of the concrete and cement parts in 360 degrees and, if so, their fragility.
  • If there is mussel shells or other material in concrete or other material, attach photos of them.
