Future Quests to Expect for OSRS

Here's what you should expect from the newest quests Jagex has polled.

Jagex has decided to change its polling system to suit its development needs better and waste less time partially developing unwanted content. Their first poll after announcing this change refers to two different quests. If the poll passes, you will have a new way to earn OSRS GP from a brand new boss and more XP as rewards from quests, which could help you further save on  OSRS gold you'd use to train most of those skills using very efficient methods.

The poll needs more information about two different quests, an intermediate-level quest, and a master-level quest. In comparison, Jagex gave the first quest a name: The Garden of Death. The second quest doesn’t even have a name yet, but it’s supposed to unlock a new repeatable boss. This is similar to how the Dragon Slayer 2 quests will give you access to killing Vorkath, which is still one of the best solo combat ways to earn OSRS gold. Through the drops from this so-called phantom boss, you will be able to access a new way to earn OSRS GP from the still unknown drops, assuming they are tradeable, which is the case for most of the uniques dropped by various bosses.

The Garden of Death OSRS

The Garden of Death is an intermediate-level quest located in the Kourend and Kebos area. It is a standalone quest which is the opposite of quest series, such as the elves quest series that culminates in unlocking Prifddinas or the desert quest series, which is the requirement for playing the newest PvM content, Tombs of Amascut. If you need help completing this quest in the future, you can get an  OSRS accounts for sale that already has a high-level character.

Standalone quests are generally of two types within the world of Old School RuneScape: standalone quests that unlock new content or minigames such as the Sleeping Giants quest, which unlocks the Smithing minigame the Giants' Forge or the Below Ice Mountains quest, which unlocks a brand new area, the Ruins of Camdozaal. However, the standalone quests that unlock minigames are a relatively new and experimental type of quest. Most of the other standalone quests unlock other exciting pieces of content, such as the ability to raise cats, new transportation means, various items, and activities without providing a sort of in-depth tutorial for the said activity.

Other standalone quests are meant to develop on the game's lore and immerse you in the liveliness of the world of Old School RuneScape beyond the grind. Jagex stated that the quest idea came during their first-ever game jam, which took place in April 2022 and had as its purpose to tap into the creativity of the mods.

What makes this quest unique among all of the other quests is the concept behind it. As an OSRS player, you're probably already used to holding down your spacebar during quests to skip through dialogues and watch various cutscenes. The mods want to experiment further and push the boundaries of how you experience quests by offering a different experience where you won't have dialogues with NPCs or cutscenes. However, the only revealed piece of information is the experimental gameplay, where you'll need to decipher a language.

From the revealed requirements of this quest, it is clear that you'll need a farming skill and will get farming XP as one of the rewards. This, together with the location of the quests, means that it will be a members-only quest.

Untitled Master Level Quest

Regardless of the story behind any quests and their relationship to other quests, many have other quests as requirements to start them, generally, but not necessarily as part of a quest series. For example, to start the master-level quest A Night at the Theatre, you must have completed all of the other quests in the series, such as the Restless Ghost or A Taste of Hope. To start the standalone intermediate quest Zogre Flesh Eaters, you will need to have previously completed two other content-related quests: Jungle Potion and Big Chompy Bird Hunting, even though none of them belongs to a quest series.

Similarly, you will have several quests as a requirement to start this new and mysterious master quest Jagex is polling. Besides the still unknown quests requirements, you will need other must-have skills such as 69 Agility, 64 Thieving, and 56 Hunter. Coincidentally or not, the 69 agility is required for a shortcut near the Dense Essence Mine in the Kourend/Kebos area.

The concept is very similar to how the Dragon Slayer 2 and Vorkath work, meaning that once you finish the quest, you can fight the boss freely and earn OSRS GP for your OSRS account. Jagex has also stated that the recommended combat stats for killing the boss sub-sequentially is 95 and that the boss will be mechanically harder than Vorkath but with lower stats. However, it is tough to predict whether you’ll be able to make a similar amount of OSRS gold per hour as in the case of Vorkath.
