Bursa business world became one heart to heal the wounds caused by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, which is described as the disaster of the century. Taking action from the first hours of the earthquake, BTSO, which created a crisis desk under the leadership of Bursa Governor's Office and in cooperation with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, sent 52 aid trucks to the region in line with the needs of the earthquake victims with its more than 561 thousand members. Continuing its efforts for food and hot meal support for the region, BTSO also took action to establish a city of 1.000 containers in the earthquake zone with the contributions of the business world.

BTSO, the umbrella organization of the Bursa business world, continues to mobilize all its opportunities for earthquake victims. BTSO, which started emergency relief efforts after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, the center of which affected 10 provinces, has been 6 TIRs of water and food, 180 TIRs of blankets and tents, 89 TIRs of winter clothes and boots, 76 TIRs of heaters and stoves, and 23 lorries of kitchen equipment. , 15 TIR sleeping bags, 4 TIR diapers and food, 12 TIR medical and hygiene products, 15 fuel tankers, 12 TIR generators and 15 construction equipment, in total, delivered 120 aid trucks to the earthquake area.

Bursa Became One Heart

Under the leadership of BTSO, 'Disaster Areas Support and Coordination Meeting' was held in the Chamber Service Building. Speaking at the meeting where BTSO committee, council and council members participated heavily, BTSO Chairman İbrahim Burkay said that Bursa is a city with exemplary entrepreneurs and business people competing in philanthropy. Stating that the council and committee members showed an example of cooperation and solidarity from the first day of the earthquake, Burkay said, “After we started our aid campaign, we received thousands of calls from our members who wanted to support. Everyone made a great effort to do their best. The aid materials needed continue to be sent to disaster areas for a week with your support. From construction machinery to logistics; We sent 561 aid trucks, from food to shelter, to disaster areas with the support of our business representatives.” said.

BTSO Started Work for Container City

President Burkay said that as BTSO, they started a "container city" project to meet the temporary shelter needs of citizens affected by the earthquake with the support of our members. Inviting the representatives of the business world to support the campaign, President İbrahim Burkay said, “As a country, we are deeply saddened by one of the biggest earthquake disasters in history. Unprecedented in the world, 2 major earthquakes that occurred one after the other, unfortunately, caused great destruction in 10 provinces. As the business world of Bursa, we have started a mobilization with all our members since the first day of the earthquake to heal the wounds caused by the earthquake. One of the most important needs in the region right now is shelter. There are thousands of families whose houses were destroyed and damaged. We have also started our container city project to meet the shelter needs of these families.” used the phrases.

Target 1.000 Containers in the First Stage

Stating that they aim to establish a city in which 1.000 container houses will be located in the region with the support of the business world, Mayor Burkay said, “The cost of each 21 square meter, furnished and specially insulated container house is 80 thousand TL. The container city will be an important solution for the temporary shelter needs of the victims in winter conditions. We aim to complete this project as soon as possible with the donations of our business representatives. We will continue to stand by the earthquake victims with all our might in this great disaster.” he said.

Food and Hot Meal Support

BTSO Chairman of the Board Burkay stated that they continue to provide food parcels and hot meal support to the region with the contributions of the Bursa business world and said, “At this point, we have formed working groups. All of our committees and councils are included in these working groups. Daily field kitchens have been established in the region. We definitely need to deliver food aid to the region. Hopefully, with the support of our business representatives, we will convey our assistance to the region in the fastest and most coordinated way possible.
