Karsu Dönmez (born 19 April 1990, Amsterdam) is a Dutch Turkish singer-songwriter and pianist. The style of music that he blends with Turkish melodies can be defined as jazz pop.

Karsu Dönmez was born on April 19, 1990 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as one of the two daughters of Turkish origin mother Birgül and father Alpaslan Dönmez, who immigrated from Karsu village of Hatay. She decided to play the piano she saw on TV when she was 8 years old. His family first rented him a piano. When they saw that he loved her very much, a piano was bought for him with the money they saved. Karsu went to America with a scholarship given by the American Embassy in the Netherlands and studied singing at the University of Rhode Island.

Karsu started her active musical life at the age of 16 by playing the piano for the customers of Kilim Restaurant in Amsterdam, owned by her father. Attracting the attention of customers here, Karsu was greeted with interest and the number of people who came to listen to him increased. In the face of this situation, his family decided to keep a salon for Karsu. In this way, they would have given a concert in a large venue for those who wanted to listen to him. However, this account did not go as the Dönmez family thought. It was not possible to close the issue by giving a big concert to the demand of people who wanted to watch Karsu. After this concert, Karsu started to receive offers from the most important stages and organizations of the world. In a short time, he took part in important stages from the Concertgebouw to the North Sea Jazz Festival and even to New York Carnegie Hall. There were those who said that when they closed their eyes and listened to his voice at his concerts, they thought they were listening to a giant jazz star in New Orleans.

Karsu focused on her work in Turkey in the fall of 2011 by contracting with her record label, event and management agency “Y Kültür Sanat”. He released his first studio album Confession (2012) and Colors (2015) in Turkey with the label of “Y Culture and Art”. Karsu has undertaken the lyrics and music of almost all of the songs in these two albums.

The Turkish media covered Karsu for the first time in 2012 in the Transparent Room program presented by Güneri Civaoğlu. Thanks to this program, he reached a different audience. Karsu gave many concerts in organizations such as Istanbul Zorlu Center PSM, Ankara Jazz Festival, Alanya Jazz Festival and Akbank Jazz Festival. He went on a world tour called From New York to Istanbul between 2014-2015. In 2018, Karsu took the stage in more than 40 theaters with the project of Plays Atlantic Records. In these concerts, the life story of Ahmet Ertegün, the founder of the world-famous Atlantic Records record label, was told and the hits from Atlantic Records were reinterpreted with the touch of Karsu. With this project, Karsu carried Ertegün's journey to the stage with the songs released by Atlantic Records. Karsu staged this concert in Turkish for the first time at Zorlu PSM in May 2018. Karsu Plays Atlantic Records tour ended at London Cadogan Hall.

The artist released his fourth album, Karsu, which he prepared by working for three years and named after himself, on October 10, 2019.
